(2017) Character Design for Digital Painting (Lockwood and Co)
THIS CLASS WAS THE BEST. Our professor had us practice character design using original characters or characters from a book.  I chose to design Lucy from Jonathan Stroud's YA series, Lockwood and Co, one of my all time favorites. I also had to design a villain and a companion: I chose Bickerstaff's ghost from the second book for the former, and the ghost in the jar for the latter.
This was SUCH a fun project, I loved every bit of it.  I do wish I'd used a T-pose for the character turn around (second image) just because I feel like it's used more in the industry and looks a little more professional.
I think they are in fact making a television series for Lockwood and Co.  It's the in the works, at least.  But it's going to be live action, which means they can't hire me to animate it.  What a pity.
