This one went through a lot of iterations before it ended up here. It's very Eyvind Earle-esque. Which was INSANELY fun to do. I know this image is pretty tiny; just click to get a better view!

(2017) Black and White Portrait for Digital Painting
Oooohhhhh, Digital Painting!! My favorite class yet! This was our first assignment, a high key black and white portrait of any celebrity. Working in high key was a challenge, and I understand why we tried it out, but I wanted to see what the painting would look like if I darkened it up a little bit, so that's what the second image is. My model was the beautiful Zendaya, reference here: X

(2017) Black Widow
Pre-Infinity War Black Widow. Another one done on MS Paint! Then touched up a little in Photoshop a couple of years later.

(2017) Semi Creepy Brandon Flowers Doodle
There's something about his facial expression that's just...off. You know? I did this in MS Paint, which could explain it. It definitely explains the choppy brush strokes. I added the background decoration in Photoshop a couple of years later. And now he's arrived. Crazy eyes and all.

(2017) Hedwig and the Angry Inch
One of my favorite aimless sketches that managed to turn into something cool! I used this reference of one of Darren Criss and Lena Hall's performances of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, one of my all time favorite musicals.

(2017) Klaine Flat Color (Glee)
More smooches! I like painting over a sketch with just one color; it's weird and also easy.

(2017) SB 11_Wonder Woman
I drew this after seeing Wonder Woman for the first time.*Heart eyes, heavy, dramatic sigh*
(2017) Color Theory for 2D Design
This assignment was insane. We looked at how putting two colors next to each other could make our eyes see one of the colors differently than if the color was viewed by itself. I had to try to make one color look like two different colors (first image) and two different colors look like the same color (second image). I could only use the colors in the larger rectangles to try to modify the way the smaller rectangles looked. IT WAS SO HARD. I think the first one is actually pretty impressive; the turquoise does a great job of bringing out the purple in the smaller rectangle. But I seriously struggled with the second challenge. The purples don't look exactly the same, but pretty close.
Brains are so weird.

(2017) Klaine Pop Art (Glee)
Haha, I don't even know. I had this awful drawing of their first kiss that I couldn't finish, so I toned it way down to just flat shapes and kept trying new colors, and then this happened.
This kiss was everything, though, right??

(2017) SB 11_Kirk (Star Trek)
How many times have I seen the 2009 Star Trek reboot? Really couldn't say. Many, many times.

(2017) Hogwarts Complimentary Grid for 2D Design (Harry Potter)
The trick to surviving assignments you have no interest in is finding a way to make the assignment fan art. It works! This is my favorite piece that I did for the class!

(2017) Analogous Colors for 2D Design
We were allowed to paint anything we wanted, and, against my better judgement, I wanted to do a portrait. It might be a little messy, but I still love it.

(2017) Monochromatic Collage for 2D Design
This was one of those school assignments where you cut out shapes from a magazine and use them to create a design which you then paint. I've done it several times across a couple of classes. They always turn out weird.
